Curriculum Writer

--Remote--

We are currently looking for writers in three distinct areas:

  1. Our new Modular Math series
  2. Teacher's Guides
  3. Student Notebooks

These are all part-time positions that require anywhere from 4-6 hours a day (could be longer), and we do often require Saturday work. Applicant must have the time and dedication to commit to meeting deadlines and working under pressure. They also must have strong writing mechanics and grammar skills, presenting information with good flow and organization.

  1. Modular Math Writer: This applicant should have either a mathematics background or a passion for math to help us develop this new product. Duties may include writing the teaching portion for new concepts and/or the practice and review questions for students ranging from a Kindergarten to a 6th grade level. To apply for this job, please fill out the application and submit one lesson of math that includes teaching and practice problems and is leveled appropriately for three different age groups—Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade. Please include notes to design, images, and any inspiration or ideas for how you would imagine it to be laid out.
  2. Teacher's Guide Writer: We are currently rewriting some of our earlier units to create all-new versions that meet our current standards and styles, and we need qualified writers who can research information and present it in a clear and conversational way. Our Teacher's Guides are written to engage and appeal to listeners of all ages—Pre-school all the way to High School. If you are interested in being a Teacher's Guide writer, look at one of our earlier units (Asia, Africa, Earth Science, Human Body, etc.) and rewrite one of the lessons to be 2,000 words in a conversational tone and style that follows a similar template but is more fleshed out. To get a better idea, you can compare it to one of our newer units (Energy, Life Skills, Music, Unsolved Mysteries, Ocean Life, etc.).
  3. Student Notebook Writer: We are also actively looking for Student Notebook writers who have a good understanding of the various ages and needs as well as our unique approach—where less is more and we try to get out of the traditional box of "read and write". If you are interested in being a Student Notebook writer, take a look at one of our Teacher's Guide lessons for any unit that interests you and write new pages for it following the style and approach of our most recent releases (Energy, Life Skills, Music, Unsolved Mysteries, Ocean Life, etc.). We would need to see at least 2 distinct pages with different subject focuses, such as Science, Social Studies, History, Language Arts, Art, and/or Bible. Each of these pages should be leveled appropriately in 6 different ways—Pre-reader, Early Reader, Early Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle School, and High School.

Please note: the writing submitted will not be used by us in any way and is purely submitted for a sample. You are free to use these same samples yourself for any other use and you own the copyright—translating no rights to us unless we negotiate that during the hiring process.
