Co-op Teacher - Math

--Remote--

We're building a passionate, Christ-centered team of educators who are excited to bring our unique unit study approach to life for families joining our virtual co-op both in person and online. You will be teaching the Gather 'Round Homeschool curriculum, which integrates all subjects except math into a unified, family-style learning experience grounded in a Biblical worldview. There are multiple positions available for various teaching roles, but the following responsibilities would apply to all:

  • Curriculum Delivery and Facilitation: Leading the assigned Gather 'Round lesson for the co-op group, ensuring that the content from the Teacher's Guide is presented engagingly and effectively to a multi-age audience. This includes facilitating discussions and adapting the lesson for a group setting.

  • Activity Planning and Execution: Organizing, preparing, and leading the hands-on activities, crafts, experiments, or projects outlined in the Gather 'Round unit. This may involves gathering necessary materials and communicating supplies needed to families ahead of time to ensure a smooth flow of activities for all participating children.

  • Class Management & Support: Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students joining both virtually and in person, managing a diverse group of students across various ages, inspiring participation, maintaining order, and providing age-appropriate support or guidance as needed during the co-op session.

  • Preparation and Resource Management: Being thoroughly familiar with the specific Gather 'Round unit being taught, planning sessions in advance, and previewing the available resources on the Gather 'Round app and/or sourcing your own additional resources to enhance the lessons.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Regularly communicating with co-op organizers, parents, and fellow teachers regarding lesson plans, material requirements, student needs, and any logistical information to ensure a cohesive and well-organized co-op experience for everyone.

*Preference will be given to local applicants who could come record on site with our equipment, though we are open to remote as well. Please take videos in the location you would be using with good natural lighting, a clean backdrop, and the highest quality equipment you have.
